Wincheset super short magnums and short magnums

Postby bigguns » Thu Feb 18, 2010 10:31 pm

I am sure that I can not shoot a 223 WSSM in a regular 223. But what is the real difference? What is the differnce in all the WSSM and the WSM cases or ammo from the regular ammo?

The real difference or most tangable difference from the WSM and the WSSM from the regular older cases is that they are SHORT MAGNUM Cases. So they are shorter and inherently fatter to provide the powder capacity they require to be "Magnum Cartridges". Some operate at higher gas pressures, some offer a more efficient burn, and some simply offer more powder. But in general they are all shorter and fatter.

Hey Bigguns,

I don't know if you were asking that question for the common good or if you really are wondering. Anyway, like the admin said shorter fatter and faster. That about sums it up for the Winchester Super Short Magnums and the Remington Short Action Ultra Mags.
